Arrow Electronics now has a stronger business story and a much higher share price after the IBM expansion and recent results. The next step is to see whether that strength is already fully reflected in the valuation.

Most Popular Narrative: 3% Undervalued

Arrow Electronics last closed at $220.36 compared with a narrative fair value of $227, so the current setup has captured investor attention without looking extreme.

Accelerating adoption of cloud, infrastructure software, cybersecurity, and mid-market as-a-service offerings (notably through ArrowSphere) is increasing Arrow's exposure to higher-margin, recurring revenue streams, which is set to support both revenue growth and margin stability in future quarters.

Read the complete narrative.

The current fair value hinges on a specific mix of revenue growth, margin expansion and a lower profit multiple than many peers. Want to see which earnings and buyback assumptions sit underneath that story and how they connect to Arrow Electronics guidance and recent IBM and Microsoft partnerships.

Result: Fair Value of $227 (UNDERVALUED)

Have a read of the narrative in full and understand what's behind the forecasts.

However, you also need to weigh the risk that larger customers bypass distributors like Arrow Electronics, and that any demand slowdown leaves it with elevated inventory and weaker margins.

CENTENNIAL, Colo., August 17, 2026--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arrow Electronics has expanded its IBM distribution coverage to seven additional countries. The expansion enables Arrow to distribute IBM solutions to channel partners in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

This will enable channel partner organizations in the select areas to deliver scalable, enterprise-ready solutions that support customers on their transformation journeys.

Arrow will distribute IBM's portfolio across infrastructure, automation and data, including software and services designed to support modern application development, hybrid cloud deployments and resilient IT operations. Channel partners will benefit from Arrow's deep technical expertise, local support, and value-added resources including Arrow's experience centers and the channel partner-focused IBM Practice accelerator program that help drive growth.

The enhancement builds on Arrow's longstanding global relationship with IBM. Arrow has worked closely with IBM in regions including Benelux, Estonia, France, Hungary, Iberia, Ireland, Morocco, Nordics, Poland, UK and across North America, supporting the delivery of IBM solutions with a combination of strong commercial capability, technical depth, experience centers and proven channel accessible enablement programs. This global experience allows Arrow to deliver both strategic reach and tailored in-country support to help the channel unlock more value from IBM's technology.

"This coverage expansion strengthens our longstanding relationship with IBM and reflects Arrow's focus on bringing high-quality solutions and services to the market in seven additional countries," said Salesh Rampersad, chief revenue officer for Arrow's global enterprise computing solutions business. "By providing greater access to IBM's technologies, combined with Arrow's local expertise, we are helping channel partners create meaningful outcomes for customers navigating complex IT environments."

The addition of seven new countries is part of Arrow's continued focus on strengthening the channel with access to enterprise-class technology and support.

(0:20) - Should Investors Be Concerned About An Incoming Recession? (19:45) - Where Should Be Looking To Invest Right Now? (38:15) - Episode Roundup: ARW, MKSI, MWH, TSM, CAT, AMZN Podcast@zacks.com

Every week, host and Zacks stock strategist, Tracey Ryniec, is joined by guests to discuss the hottest investing topics in stocks, bonds, and ETFs and how it impacts your life.

This week, Tracey was joined by Zacks Chief Equity Strategist, John Blank, to talk about their favorite topic which is the state of the U.S. economy.

Will there be a recession in 2026?

Weak Job Market: Cause for Concern?

The job market appears to be weakening as new jobs created went negative for the first time this year with a loss of 23,000 jobs in July. The two prior months were also revised lower from prior readings.

Despite a trillion dollars in AI spending, in addition to robust federal government spending in areas like defense and agriculture, the US economy is not booming.

The Federal Reserve doesn't seem concerned. It remained on the sidelines, with no revisions to interest rates, either cuts or increases, at its July meeting. Its next meeting is Sep 15-16, 2026.

Stocks at New Highs

Meanwhile, the stock market doesn't seem concerned either. The S&P 500 and Russell 2000 are hitting new all-time highs this month.

AI Revolution spending is trickling down to the old economy infrastructure companies that are involved in the data center buildout. You can find these stocks by looking at a list of Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) stocks and seeing who has earnings that are taking off.

Tracey found three of them on a quick look at the list of #1s.

These aren't who you think. They aren't NVIDIA or Micron. These companies are further down the chain but revenue and earnings are popping as the hyperscalers plan on spending $1 trillion on the AI buildout this year.

3 AI Revolution Strong Buy Stocks for Your Short List

  1. Arrow Electronics, Inc. ARW

Arrow Electronics is a technology solutions distributor for manufacturers and service providers. On Aug 6, 2026, Arrow Electronics reported its results for the second quarter 2026. Sales jumped 32% to $9.9 billion and it saw healthy demand across all regions, end markets, and customer segments.

Story Continues

Arrow was added to the Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) list on Aug 11, 2026.

Should a technology distributor like Arrow be on your short list?

  1. MKS Inc. MKSI

MKS provides foundational technology solutions to semiconductor manufacturing, electronics and packaging, and specialty industrial applications. On Aug 5, 2026, MKS reported second quarter 2026 results and saw revenue above the high end of the company's guidance. It also saw rapidly growing order volume due to AI.

Shares of MKS are up 92% year-to-date. Earnings are expected to jump 64.5% in 2026. Yet it's still attractively priced with a forward P/E of 23.7.

MKS Inc. was added to the Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) list on Aug 11, 2026.

Should a solutions provider to the semiconductor industry like MKS Inc. be on your short list?
