|
Haftungsausschluss: Der Text wurde mit Hilfe einer KI zusammengefasst und übersetzt. Für Aussagen aus dem Originaltext wird keine Haftung übernommen! KONE Oyj (HLSE:KNEBV) has opened a Digital Experience Centre in Pune, India, giving customers a live view of how its AI, connectivity, and data tools shape elevator and smart building solutions. The Digital Experience Centre launch lands at a time when KONE Oyj's short-term share price momentum is picking up, with a 30-day share price return of 6.39% and a 90-day gain of 6.93%. However, the year-to-date share price is still down 13.09%, and the 1-year total shareholder return has declined 3.44%, compared with a much stronger 3-year total shareholder return of 48.95%. This points to a longer-run recovery story still in play. Scan 92 AI infrastructure stocks to find more businesses using AI and connected hardware to shape how people move through buildings and cities. KONE Oyj looks like a solid elevator and smart building powerhouse, yet the recent bounce in the share price raises a sharper question: Are you paying a fair price for that quality today? Most Popular Narrative: 33% Undervalued The most followed narrative on KONE Oyj pegs fair value at €79.30, well above the last close of €52.96. The story hinges on whether service led growth and a bigger installed base can support that gap over time. Share gains outside China, evidenced by 10.9% year on year order growth in Q2 2026 with double digit increases in three regions and strong contributions from both New Building Solutions and modernization, give KONE Oyj scope to convert a larger installed base into higher long term revenue and service driven earnings. See why 1 investors see KONE Oyj as 33% undervalued. Result: Fair Value of €79.30 (UNDERVALUED) Still, the KONE Oyj story can break if the planned TK Elevator tie up loads too much debt or if China pricing pressure keeps squeezing group level profitability. Find out about the key risks to this KONE Oyj narrative. Another View: What KONE Oyj's P/E Is Telling You There is a very different story once the focus shifts from fair value narratives to the plain P/E number. KONE Oyj trades on 29.1x earnings, above the European Machinery group at 20.6x, the peer average at 18.7x, and its own fair ratio of 28.4x. That premium suggests less room for error if the bullish case on margins and growth stumbles, so it is worth considering whether you are comfortable paying a higher multiple for this quality. |
Haftungsausschluss: Der Text wurde mit Hilfe einer KI zusammengefasst und übersetzt. Für Aussagen aus dem Originaltext wird keine Haftung übernommen! Investing.com -- Citi Research upgraded elevator maker Kone to "buy" from "neutral" with a €63 price target, saying the shares' fall since February means they price in only a very low probability of its proposed Thyssenkrupp Elevator acquisition. Before you buy NVIDIA: our AI model's stock picks are beating the market by 120%+. See the list now » The target was cut from €65 because Citi lowered its long-term growth assumption to 3.0% from 3.5% and raised its discount rate to 7.8% to reflect higher bond yields. Kone shares closed at €51.72 on Oct. 6. Citi expects a 21.8% share price return and a 25.6% total return including dividends. Citi values Kone at about €55 a share if the deal falls through, which includes an assumed €1.5 billion break fee. That is broadly in line with the current price. If the deal goes ahead, it values the combined company at about €68 a share. Its target assumes a 60% chance of the deal completing. Citi called the upside from the deal "essentially a 'free option'" at the current price. Kone shares trade at about 15.5 times expected 2027 earnings before interest, tax and amortisation, on an enterprise-value basis, against an average of about 18.7 times since 2016. Citi said this reflects fears about rising costs outpacing prices, but it sees only modest downside to consensus 2027 estimates. Not finding the right stocks? Our AI's list of investor-grade stock picks for October just dropped » Citi said Kone's estimate of €700 million in annual savings within three years of completion looks credible, even after assumed sales of some businesses. Its own estimates add up to €710 million. The largest part is service, at €250-300 million. Citi said the combined company would have the world's largest fleet of elevators under maintenance, at 3.2 million units, which could let it grow without hiring technicians as aggressively. Citi said this could lift the combined service margin above 25%. It also expects double-digit earnings-per-share growth from the deal by the third year and a Kone operating margin of about 17%. Kone agreed to buy TKE, which is owned by Advent and Cinven, for an enterprise value of €29.4 billion. That includes about €20.2 billion for the shares, paid as €5 billion in cash and about €15.2 billion in new Kone shares. Kone would also refinance about €9.2 billion of net debt. The deal is under review in major jurisdictions, with the European Union still at the "pre-filing" stage. Kone has said it expects a 12 to 18 month process. Citi said 18 months is more likely a minimum, which would put completion in autumn 2027 or later. Story Continues Citi's base case is that Kone must sell businesses with about €1.6 billion of European revenue, likely including one major factory, to create a new fourth competitor. As Reuters reported on Oct. 1, Kone is expected to launch a sale process for the assets in November. Citi said it does not assume any U.S. sales. If Kone had to sell half its legacy U.S. business, Citi estimated synergies would fall to about €450 million and earnings-per-share growth would shrink to single digits. Citi said it sees such a requirement as the more plausible reason Kone might walk away from the deal. The report profiles leading companies, including Otis, Schindler, KONE, Hitachi, Hyundai Elevator, Mitsubishi Electric, and TK Elevator. Residential Elevators MarketResidential Elevators Market Dublin, July 31, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "Residential Elevators Market by Elevator Technology, Service, and Region - Global Forecast to 2031" has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering. Residential Elevators Market to Reach USD 58.6 Billion by 2031 as Accessibility, Smart Technology and Energy Efficiency Drive Demand The global residential elevators market is projected to grow from USD 51.8 billion in 2026 to USD 58.6 billion by 2031, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.5% during the forecast period. Market expansion is being supported by the aging global population, increasing demand for home mobility and accessibility solutions, greater emphasis on energy-efficient buildings, and rising investment in smart cities and infrastructure development. Machine-Room-Less Traction Elevators Gain Residential Market Share Machine-room-less (MRL) traction elevators are projected to represent the second-largest elevator technology segment during the forecast period. Their compact configuration, strong performance and efficient use of available space make them increasingly suitable for single-family homes, townhouses, luxury residences and other upscale residential projects. MRL elevators can deliver smooth, quiet operation and improved ride comfort while reducing energy consumption through technologies such as regenerative drives and permanent magnet motors. Their compact footprint also supports installation in both new construction and retrofit projects. Demand is further strengthened by compatibility with contemporary architecture and advanced capabilities such as smart controls, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance. Continued technology development is improving the reliability, efficiency and usability of MRL systems. As homeowners, architects and builders prioritize sustainable, space-efficient and digitally connected residential elevator solutions, MRL technology is expected to maintain a significant position within the global elevator industry. Story Continues Maintenance and Repair Services Support Recurring Market Growth The maintenance and repair category is forecast to be the second-largest residential elevator service segment. Residential elevators require periodic inspection, servicing, lubrication, software updates and system optimization to maintain safety, reliability and long-term operational performance. The expanding installed base of residential elevators worldwide is consequently increasing demand for scheduled and preventive maintenance. Annual maintenance contracts are becoming more important as homeowners seek to extend equipment life, maintain consistent performance and comply with manufacturers' recommendations. Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring, remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance are also transforming service delivery by allowing providers to track system health and address potential issues proactively. Elevator manufacturers are expanding aftermarket service networks through comprehensive maintenance packages, digital diagnostic tools and rapid-response support. These services are creating recurring revenue opportunities while improving customer convenience and equipment availability. Greater awareness of preventive maintenance, combined with wider adoption of technologically advanced residential elevators, will continue to support this segment. North America Projected to Remain the Second-Largest Regional Market In value terms, North America is projected to be the second-largest residential elevators market during the forecast period. Growth is supported by strong demand for home accessibility solutions, luxury housing, custom-built homes and new residential infrastructure. The region's large elderly population is increasing adoption among homeowners seeking independent living and convenient movement between floors. Renovation and home improvement activity also contributes to demand, as residential elevators can enhance accessibility, convenience and property value. High consumer purchasing power and strong adoption of advanced home technologies support the installation of smart residential elevators featuring IoT connectivity, touchless controls, remote diagnostics and energy-efficient systems. North America also benefits from the presence of major elevator manufacturers, established service networks and ongoing innovation in compact and MRL elevator technologies. Universal design initiatives and demand for premium home features are supporting continued investment across the United States and Canada. Positive Points KONE Oyj (KNYJF) reported a strong acceleration in modernization, with growth exceeding 15%, highlighting success in capturing opportunities from aging building stock. The company achieved further margin expansion and strong cash generation, reflecting a disciplined execution and a quality business mix. Orders grew by almost 11% in the quarter, with three out of four regions delivering double-digit growth. KONE Oyj (KNYJF) increased connectivity in its maintenance portfolio to 44%, enhancing customer value and service capabilities. The planned combination with TKE is progressing well, with strong shareholder support and regulatory reviews advancing as planned. Negative Points Order margins declined slightly year-on-year due to inflationary pressures, despite actions taken to address this. The demand for new building solutions in China remains weak, impacting overall market activity. Service growth was slower due to high comparison points in China and reduced M&A contributions in Europe. Inflationary pressures linked to geopolitical tensions, including elevated logistics costs, continue to pose challenges. The company faces ongoing risks from geopolitical developments, which could impact market resilience and growth. Q & A Highlights Q: Can you provide insights into the modernization revenue growth and its outlook for the rest of the year? A: Ilkka Hara, CFO, explained that the strong double-digit growth in modernization orders reflects the slower growth rates seen in earlier quarters. He expressed confidence in continuing to grow the modernization business at a double-digit rate, aligning with KONE's strategic ambitions. Q: How is the Chinese fund program impacting modernization, and what is KONE's position in this market? A: Philippe Delorme, CEO, noted that China is a strong market for modernization, driven by the government-led Guozhai program and customer-specific projects. KONE has captured a significant share in both segments, contributing to its growth in the Chinese modernization market. Story Continues Q: What factors contributed to the order margin decline, and how is KONE addressing this issue? A: Ilkka Hara, CFO, stated that the slight decline in margins was due to increased costs from inflationary pressures, not pricing. KONE has implemented pricing measures and cost management strategies to counter these pressures, expecting stabilization or improvement in margins moving forward. Q: How is KONE managing service growth, and what are the expectations for achieving strategic targets? A: Philippe Delorme, CEO, expressed confidence in achieving high single-digit growth in service. He attributed the recent lower growth to a high base in China, slowed M&A initiatives, and execution issues in specific geographies, which have been addressed. Q: Can you provide an update on the TKE combination and its progress? A: Philippe Delorme, CEO, confirmed that the TKE combination is progressing as planned, with strong collaboration between teams. The regulatory process is underway, and KONE remains confident in achieving the targeted $700 million cost synergies. Germany's dealmakers could be entering one of their busiest periods in decades as long-awaited transactions finally begin moving forward. Volkswagen (VWAGY) has agreed to sell a stake in its Everllence marine engine business to Bain Capital, in a deal expected to bring in about 7.4 billion for the automaker. The transaction adds to $125 billion of announced deals involving German companies this year, according to Bloomberg data, putting the first-half tally on track to possibly rank as the third-highest in the past 20 years. Goldman Sachs bankers said many of these transactions had already been sitting on board agendas, as German companies look to address strategic challenges shaped by low growth in Europe, stronger growth in the US, and the changing impact of AI across industries. More activity could still be ahead. Commerzbank remains the target of UniCredit's long-running pursuit, Uber is laying the groundwork for a possible Delivery Hero acquisition, and Deutsche Telekom has been discussing a potential combination with T-Mobile US (NASDAQ:TMUS).
